The Beginning of a Shared Scientific Journey
Dr. Vikram Sharma
Editor-in-Chief, Scientia Med: K. D. University Journal
It gives me immense pleasure to present the inaugural edition of Scientia Med: K. D. University Journal—a platform conceived with a simple but important objective: to bring together knowledge, experience, research, and perspectives from across the diverse disciplines of medicine.
Modern medicine has become increasingly specialized. The management of a complex clinical problem frequently requires collaboration between different specialities. A multidisciplinary approach is therefore no longer merely desirable; it is fundamental to contemporary healthcare. This journal seeks to provide a common academic space where such interdisciplinary exchange can flourish.
The purpose of a medical journal, however, extends beyond publishing articles. A credible journal must encourage scientific curiosity, critical thinking, ethical research, and responsible dissemination of knowledge. We hope that this journal will publish high-quality original research, systematic and narrative reviews, case reports, clinical perspectives, brief communications, and healthcare innovations.
Another vital responsibility of the journal is to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals. Medical education should not end with learning established facts; it should teach students and young clinicians how to question those facts, examine evidence, formulate hypotheses, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge.
Medicine is changing rapidly. Artificial intelligence, precision medicine, minimally invasive procedures, digital health, genomics, advanced imaging, and robotics are transforming clinical practice. Alongside these technological developments, however, the fundamental principles of medicine remain unchanged: scientific integrity, clinical judgment, compassion, and commitment to the patient.
"A journal should not merely provide answers; it should also help formulate better questions. Welcome to the beginning of our shared scientific journey."
